I've worked in a plant for 15 years. Days, nights, holidays, weekends — shift work doesn't care what's on the calendar.

Over the years, I've missed a lot. Parties. Birthdays. Holidays. Moments I can't get back. But here's the thing — I never minded as much as people thought I should. Because when I picked up that shift, I was thinking about the guy on my crew with three kids at home. The first time dad who just had a baby. The coworker who hadn't seen his family all week. If I could take that shift so they didn't have to, that felt like the right call.

That's just how some of us are wired.

Coffee Was Always There

Through every early morning, every overnight, every double — coffee was the constant. It didn't matter if it was 3 AM or 3 PM. A good cup of coffee meant the shift was starting, and you were ready for it.

After years of that, I wanted to do something with it. Not just drink coffee — but create something worth drinking. Something I could dedicate to the people who live this life every day.
